Greyscale-first chrome

Why I keep navigation, type, and surfaces quiet so project imagery and atmosphere gradients carry the color.

Most portfolio sites compete with the work they are trying to show. Greyscale chrome is a deliberate constraint: buttons, nav, and metadata sit back so photography, UI captures, and motion demos stay in front.

Chromatic atmosphere is reserved for gradients, playground experiments, and case-study hero moments — never for everyday controls. That split keeps the site feeling designed without turning every page into a brand poster.

Tokens make the rule enforceable. When every surface maps to greyscale roles, swapping light and dark modes or tightening spacing does not accidentally reintroduce hue into the chrome layer.
